is there a DIY - change to LED license plate lights

I bought these LED license plate lights last year and never get a chance to install them.
I look at the rear plate assembly, how do you remove it?
is there a DIY somewhere?
thanks

do you need to put the resistors?
if yes, where do you buy them?

the oem bulbs are ugly yellow color, we are trying to replace them with white color LED bulbs.
if you drive around, the Lexus IS and BMW 1 series are all having these white color LED rear plate lights as factory standard.
