Help!

I am selling my set of 20" iForged Essen wheels and I am looking for a set of new wheels to replace them.

I'm here to get the opinions and suggestions of forum members on a new set of wheels!

Here are the criteria:

1. They have to be lightweight.

2. They have to be sturdy (potholes around here are horrendous).

3. They have to be 19".

4. They have to be all black, or at least black with a chrome lip (only chrome, no aluminum).

5. They have to be relatively well priced (under $600 a wheel).

6. They should have a lip, but all wheels will be considered.

Keep in mind that these wheels will be used with a lowered suspension (any suggestions on suspension, lowering, ride height are more than welcome as well!)

Do not hesitate to throw up a pic or two of your own car to prove your point!

That is a really sick wheel, however I don't think it is available with a black center and a chrome lip. It appeared as if it the options were all chrome, or a black center and a machined lip.

Couple problems with what your asking for unfortunately. A wheel with a chrome lip, will generally be a multi-piece wheel. In general you will not find a lightweight multi-piece wheel. Obviously, asking for a light weight, yet strong wheel, for only $600 a wheel, also narrows down your choices a lot.

The RS-D by far, meets your criteria the best. It is a polished lip, which is very similar to chrome, is very light, comes with a black center standard, and is very strong. It is a bit more expensive than $600, but not by much.

Your last stipulation, said you do not require a lip, this would also bring about a few more choices. The Advan RS meets all of your criteria. As well as the Forgestar F14.

The SSR Type-F also comes close to what your looking for, but lacks the lip and is only available in Silver

If you are ok with a wheel that is not extremely light, but only around 25-26 lbs, the Work Gnosis line may be what your looking for. Accept, it is not a chrome lip, but an anodized polish.

Thanks for your input Frank! I am trying to stay away from any polished lip though, I've had so many problems with the lip on my iForged Essen wheels in the climate I live in.

But I'm also interested in a solid black wheel too, therefore the wheel could have a lip, but it would also be black.

I need suggestions that will help me decide on what kind of wheel/tire/suspension setup to go with.

The problem with your polished lip is most likely due to the fact that they do not have clear coat, and it is bare polished metal. The RS-D for example (and most japanese polished wheels), have a clear coat over the polish to help protect the metal.

The RS-D is also available in a full matte black

oooh, see now I'm liking that, that's pretty damn clean...

Any ideas on the weight for that wheel in 19"?

Also, I think the iForged wheels came with a clear-coat...

So there are only 3 wheels that fit the criteria listed above..?

Also, frank, do you know the weight of that wheel off the top of your head?
