all,
On my last service at peabody (brake fluid change) SA said they normally don't give loaners for services that are under 2-3 hours. Is this really the case? 4 years at Peabody and they've always given my a loaner for all type of services....maybe a new thing?

I still like Peabody's service a lot. In fact, I just got an email from Dave reminding me to take my car in for the yearly scheduled service even I moved out of state.

I have a naive question for me to make sure. So far, I have been used HC boston for the sake of convenience, but their service was "TERRIBLE."
Can I go to other service centers, say Peabody, even though I bought mine from HC? Any disadvantages? |

I have switched where I take my car in and the dealers never care. They are actually quite helpful and nice when you say you are switching to them from a different dealer.

I just picked up my car from the Centennial Drive location and found out my car had been washed even though I specified no wash
I got it detailed by Ryan at Unique Car Care last October so I hope they didn't swirl it up again. I'll have to wait until the morning to see it in the sun. Last edited by MetsFan; 01-26-2010 at 06:10 PM.. |

BMW of Peabody, don't let them wash your car, had mixed reviews from SA's depends on the day.

Initially, I put a friendly sticky note right in the gauge cluster. It may seem like overkill, but it ensures the tech knows and doesn't just run it through.

They won't let me take it somewhere else and pay for it either. They said they have an in house detailer to fix it for me. Any experience with their those guys? I don't know what to do now with all the horror threads I've been reading. |

Dang, thanks for the heads up. I'm supposed to bring it in tomorrow for them to take a look at the damage. I'll try to convince to let me take it back to Ryan, but we'll see.

No luck. I spoke to the spa manager and he said he would spend 8-10 hours to get it back to where it was. My service advisor said it somewhere else would be an "added cost" so it's either their detailer or nothing

+1.
I'm a detailing enthusiast, but Rick/Ryan would be the only other guys within 200mi I'd let touch my paint. Top notch work all around, they're the only ones around here (that I know of) who do it right. Despite what SA's may believe, dealer detailers tend to know nothing about the art of paint correction. I have yet to hear of a dealer doing a job even half as good as an independent who knows what he's doing - and many times they do more harm than good.
