Charge pipe keeps popping off..

It had never happened, tune/no tune, then all of the sudden the damn thing decides to begin popping loose. First it had to be long gear pulls and quick shifts. I guess quick surge of boost.. but now, it's fairly effortless to pop it loose.

I'm thinking of ordering the Evolution Racewerks one, but for now as a temp fix, before it gets here...

Any of you have been successful at tightening it down with anything? maybe a t-bolt clamp?

It's just pretty much un-drivable, at any amount of boost.

Thanks

maybe its getting to the point that there is too much oil in there...Clean it out thoroughly and get yourself a oil catch can.

well, apparently, tightening the clip works a bit... but that thing is flimsy and I"m sure it'll happen again..

how about an additional o-ring? I'm sure you can source something from home depot that fits. My charge pipe popped off a couple of times but lately its been good.

+1. You probably have oil buildup in the pipes and it keeps slipping of under boost. Clean it out with brake clean and use a t-bolt clamp.

clean out the oil residue in the charge pipe, as that might be the culprit. Then get some t-bolt clamps to replace whatever clamps you're using now. That should do the trick. Also would be a good idea to get a oil catch can.......

I would recommend trying a T-bolt clamp. I tried to find one at a couple car shops and wasn't able to find anything. I eventually ordered one off ebay and it's been working fine. I used to have problems with my charge pipe slipping off the throttle body, but it hasn't slipped off since I replaced the clamp.

It was dirty as hell though, cleaned a bit, but you're probably right and I need a catch can.
