XEDE with Downpipe only for 335i?

I personally hate the sound of aftermarket exhausts. Is it possible to only get an aftermarket downpipe with XEDE instead of the full TBE? Would the power loss compared to the full TBE be minimal?

typically...you don't want to bottleneck an exhaust....go from bigger to smaller.....smaller to bigger is okay (bigger piping exhaust, but keep the stock downpipe)....

Theres a lot of info already discussed about what??? Downpipes or where the cats are located? I tried searching for both and came up with nothing relevant. I don't have time to read through hundreds of pages for the slight chance that I might find what I am looking for.

This is one of many:

There is another post with pages and photos from the shop manual showing detailed diagrams of the entire exhaust system, intercooler, etc.

Good luck

Do you have the link to this diagram? I could not tell how many cats there are from the pics here;

I would like the same diameter downpipe just more heat resistant for the software. If you widen the downpipe for more flow then go back to stock diameter it can create backpressure, i believe. I dont want a loud exhaus i like the sound of the car out of the box.
I wish people would refrain from using the little 'search' icon when somebody posts about somethign thats already been discussed. If you dont want to shed any light on the subject then dont post in the thread.

what you are looking for are "cat bypass" or "straight" pipes. Their sole purpose is to take out all the catalytic convertors. Have some made to mate to the stock exhaust and you're golden. Stock exhaust isn't all that bad (as far as performance) and you would most likely see gains due to less restriction. You can make them the same diameter piping as the stock system.
