I just bought a Jb+ a couple days ago installed it as soon as it arrived to my house. Made sure i heard a click when i installed it everything fit, i turned the car on and it started up fine the day of the installation which was yesterday. Today, when i first started my car in the morning the rpms were oscillating from 600 to at one point 2k rpms while my car was in park, the nav screen said power reduced and the SES light went on. I turned the car off and on the car drove fine afterwards but the SES light was still on. Later in the day i noticed that the SES light had finally gone off. What should I do in my case? Should i just take the jb+ off because nothing like this has ever happened before the Jb+ install. Is it normal, is the car just adapting to the jb. But overall the power is ridiculous, cant wait till i upgrade to the jb3 2.0 when it comes out of the beta stages. Btw my car is an '09 e90 with 4k miles on it with no other mods besides the jb and since i live in california im running on 91 octane(highest grade gas in the state).

Hmmm, have you had your HPFP replaced? You need to scan your car for fault codes to understand the root of the problem.

no i have not had my hpfp replaced, i dont have the bt code reader but i am going to invest in one asap, but the ses light hasnt come on since earlier today, and the car felt great when i gave it some gas. im just going to ignore this until i get the bt tool

I've read on here that some people get that light once and it never comes back and they're stock cars so I wouldn't be too quick to assume fault on a tune. It varies from car to car, search will yield some good info... BT tool is definitely worth it.

I don't know, before the tune I never abused the car I always let it cool down after i did some spirited driving. it just seemed suspicious the day after i installed the tune, i get the SES light. but i will post again tomorrow, and GREGS335 your gonna love the sound of that turbo whine after 4k rpms its just ridiculous.

There is no mechanism for a TMAP tune to cause the symptom you are describing. Unless you knocked a throttle body harness lose during the install or something it is not related. Scan the code and take it to the dealer for repair. Erratic idle is normally an early sign of fuel pump failure.

Oh, and you would probably get more useful information if you just emailed the manufacture directly (terry@burgertuning.com) rather then posting up another useless newbie thread.

I realized that I could have directly emailed the manufacturer, but instead of having them tell me what is wrong with my car, i wanted to see consumer's experiences and not what the manufacturer is going to tell me which pretty much would have been useless. After all this is a public forum isn't it. So thank you newbie one poster. Get outta here.
