Cleaning Silver Trim

Has anyone found a good product, or set of products to clean and shine the silver trim around the windows?

From what ive heard, the dull-ness comes from the poor water quality around LA. Which, I live in portland (where our water is pretty good) but the prior owner lived in LA and apperently used alot of automated carwashes.

I've seen some threads on here where people used P21S finish restorer with good results. I'm going to be getting some when the weather warms up.

A mixture of P21S Multi Surface Finish Restorer mixed with some finer polish is like magic! I take a 4" white pad on my rotary and a pea sized dollup of P21 MSFR and then mix in some 1Z Metallic Polish on the pad. Ratio of P21 to 1Z is about 1:5. I buff the metal trim and then follow that with an AIO product and they come out brilliant again. Then seal. I've also used this method by hand and a MF applicator.

Be somewhat careful with the MSFR, it is like a compound in grittiness. I use this method on door handle recesses that are heavily scratched.

Nice tip pander

I never thought of mixing the Finish Restorer with a lighter polish. Thanks for sharing, I'll have to try this technique out in the spring.
