I'd guess because the car doesn't run obscene amounts of boost like a tuner it doesn't need a bigass intercooler. It was designed by engineers with far more experience than I care to think about.

Hell Yeah that's MY 335!!! The lower silver part is the intercooler.

if you think that intercooler is small u should check out a 1.8t side mount intercooler. For an oem intercooler its actually pretty decent size.

Not really look at the square area, most intercoolers are only half as thick.
