M3 in Massachusetts

Hey guys,

Just wanted to get a feel for all those M3 drivers in MA. With all the snow, salt, POTHOLES, crappy roads, bumps, how do you manage to drive the M3 around? Is it really as bad as people make it seem? If ive have a 335i, will it be similar driving in the M3 around here?

Both rear wheels drive pretty aggressive cars. It will not make a difference.

if anything i'd think the m3 would be better in the snow than a 335i if they were both equipped with the same exact winter tire and size simply due to the m3 having a limited slip. but if you're wondering about ride quality when you asked about bumps and potholes, then i'd say the m3 is definitely a bit stiffer, but not even close to a harsh car.

Snow tires are best if you aren't lazy..

i drive my car when the roads are clear.. at least 2 days or so after a storm..

There are some rules I follow.. like try to drive in the center lanes when possible because most of the potholes are on the sides of the road.. If you drive a road once and it is real bad.. avoid it even if it takes you an extra 10 mins.. easy on the throttle and around corners in the winter because the summer tires are waaaaay less sticky.. and keep your eyes on the road in front of you at all times..

I'm on 20's now with summer tires ... been driving summer only cars in the winter for about 6 years now..

Whaaat?

My summer tires start slipping a lot on dry pavement on cold nights in the fall. I can't imagine what driving on them in the winter is like, even if it is two days after a storm!

New England roads are far worse than NJ. I'm gonna have to be careful.

and yes Mike's M3 is one of the nicest I've ever seen. Fox red interior, DCT, everything you could ask for in an M3. Come out to some meet and greet shows this year Mike is usually at them, car looks even better in person.
