235 and 245 upfront?? What will happen

I just blew a tire on a pothole and need to get it replaced. Have a 235/40/18 on there already but I found a 245/40/18 for REALLY cheap with the same tread. Will it cause any issues to run the two different sizes?

That doesn't sound like good idea, is that even legal?

two different rolling diameters is not a good idea for so many reasons. Just dont' do it.

Why do people so easily cheap out on tires? It's the signle most important thing on the car. It does everything.... accelerate, brake, turn, etc... literally the only part of the car that touches the road.

You want to use the same size tire on the same axle. If the 245 is cheap, buy two of them.

On a handling level, left/right turns won't be the same.
On a system level, it may affect the traction control and abs, as it will sense the one wheel turning faster then the other.

Do not mix tires of different overall diameters on the same axle.

OT:
A well known rim maker told me I could put 245 or 255 tires all around for opimal highway handling.
My tire guy told me 245 or 255 up front are too big for my e93.

Who is right ??

255 up front would be really nice actually, along with 275 rears.

Two different sizes on the front, and for sure you car will pull on one side.

the 235 tire will turn to goo and melt off, causing you to initiate a horrific flat spin into an on coming Mack Truck. You will try to correct it, but sadly it wont help.

So get the right size tires.
