I had my car delivered on Nov'06. Is that considered as "early production"?

Question No.2 -> Has this issue also appeared to European Cars?

my vin # is PV80069. It was one of the two early release demo cars that East Bay BMW got (they are the largest BMW dealership in the USA from what I've been told). So I'm guessing that my car is pretty darn early production as far as US cars go.

man i am sicking tired off reading posts like these. How can a company like BMW, send out a batch of cars without any post assembly quality control measures. I mean, is this the first time BMW ever made a high out put turbocharged car. What the hell is going on here?

This is the same company that was making turbocharged engines putting out over 1000 hp in qualifying trim over a 4cylinder engine in the way back when NELSON PIQUET was driving it.

Isnt there any decent engineer left overthere to design a inline 6 with detuned 300 hp.

I am sick and tired of people bs ing about this failure that failure.

Let me tell you something, i have 800 miles on this thing. It hasnt over heated, missed, stalled, the head is still intact, and its sitting on top of a block with no holes on either side. All it does is takes off like bad out of hell and sucks shit loads of gas, corners like nothing i drove before.

Leave the car alone, and let people enjoy it because if it is gonna happen its gonna happen, you bought the car, and what are you gonna do, disassemble the head and take it to the machine shop and tell the guy to fix it!!!

Nothing new, especially to S54 owners. Quite common, especially the rod bearing issues. BMW's can be prone to failures.

From what I have seen:

1. Shiv tuning "xede" ecu upgrade unit, as well as exhaust.
2. EVOtech officially has an ECU upgrade out (http://www.dynocomp.com/bmw.php?view=bmw) they claim 375hp!
3. H&R Springs from the E90 can be used on this car.
4. CP-E has a BOV out, and an exhaust out or in the works. www.cp-e.com
5. Milltek (not sure how its spelled) has an upgraded diverter valve or BOV, and an exhaust in the works. http://www.millteksport.com/exhaust....?variantid=219
6. There is another company www.technikpower.com who have a project 335 they are working on, and they wil have parts out at some point.
7. There is another company called "H&S Elektronik" in Germany offering an ECU reflash/upgrade. http://www.hs-elektronik.com/start.html
http://www.hs-elektronik.com/datenbl...35i-306ps.html
They claim a jump from 306hp to 360hp, as well as jumping the speed limiter from 155 miles/hr to 185 miles/hr.
8. The big names like Hamman, Dinan, and AC schnitzer are all working on parts packages, it may be many months before they have parts available.
9. Another ECU upgrade: Competence Tuning ECU upgrade. http://www.tuner.at/produkte_chiptun...2 &chip=22848
A jump of 40hp and 50tq plus top speed of 180mph and better fuel mileage.
10. BMP Design catback exhaust system: http://www.bmpdesign.com/category-ex...arch_model/166

If anyone DOES notice any new products available for the 335 PLEASE list them here, or here: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=37227. That would be a great start, as well as any updates you have on these prodcuts/brands! I'd love to know whats out there when it comes out as I'm sure so would many of you

A head temp issue! not a cooling system over heat issue, second and a unconfirmed detail, there is a problem with the head fasteners causing head flex or surface deformation, and block issues. BMW is aware of the problems and according to the local BMW dealers ,which we work closely with, these cars with motor failure have been receiving all new engines. the word from BMW Germany is the problems have been solved, where the VIN cut off is we still don't know and are waiting just like all of you, so we will offer the flash only when we feel it is safe to do so. we do apologise for the inconvenience, and will let you know when it is available.

please call me with any concerns or questions, Jon , if I'm not available ask for Ken.

You're saying that I AM WRONG??
First of all, it would be a great help if you told us which company your talking about! lol
Secondly, I'm not representing anyone, I'm just telling you what I have seen or know. There is at least one company that is dropping work on the 335i after BMW told them there would be overheating issues. I think it was EVOtech, but I'm not sure. However, I think Vishnu has proven that to be patently false. So have other tuning companies.
Third, man I'm just trying to be helpful. Show some respect when you talk to me/someone.

first of all i apologise for not giving more info on my self and the company i represent, i was responding to a thread about a call to Dynocomp i responded accordingly but didn't get the Quote in. OK so every one is upset and wants answers, real answers. first!! in reply to the sales call to dynocomp( Ryan). he is just helping out with phones and still in training, not a tech or a sale rep, so in the future please ask for tech support or sales, (480 596 0500) with these kinds of questions, we are extremely busy and may have to call you back, and some one will call you back! second! in response to( Quote:

i am not a forum junky and only monitor relevant information, and don't feel the need to post every time i have a thought or to see how much i can post. and most of the time i PM. in this case so many people needed the info that i made the decision to try to help, so this is for those that want it and not for those that just like to make them selves be seen!
Now there are some company that are having good success tuning such as Shiv, which are great tuners, but every one has to understand that for us to sell a flash, means taking the responsibility for it, it is a very good possibility that we could sell 50 flashes for the 335i and only have a few failures but, those failures may not be covered by the dealer and that leaves the consumer looking elsewhere other than there own pocket for the damages , that's when it could come back to the seller of the flash, now many of you may say no, not true the consumer know what the deal is, well that's true until that consumer needs his car fixed and doesn't have 10K laying around. the fact that the flash wasn't the week link means nothing to someone in a crunch many of you have been there or know some one that has, hence we rather be safe than sorry.
next I would love to have the info on the Vin status, and its just as frustrating to us as it is to all of you, us not knowing is even more so due to the fact that we are in the business of tuning, no flash no profit!! if any one has good solid info please call me, i am always available 9-5:30 AZ time, M-F. thank you Jon Firpach, Dynocomp, 480 205 6269

Ok so why on your website you guys all ready put the claimed hp , plus the price, what if some one would call and say , hey I wanna get the flash done,
what do you guys say ... uhhh sorry where still working on it and how do you know how much the price is ganna be with out completing the work in first hand, what if your expense is greater than you expected and have to raise the price much more, what are you ganna tell a customer then?? either way I personly would like a flash much better, then a piggy back, I heard GIAC is working on as well, flash that is.
