i never understood why politicians get put on the spotlight for stuff like that, they're some of the most corrupt people ever, but somehow having an affair makes them unfit to continue being corrupt.

The problem is in the athlete's image. Tiger has made a lot of money being advertised, very willingly, as golf's "golden boy". His making that choice gives him the responsibility to live up to that. He broke that image and as a result is being scrutinized.
However I do agree the tabloids are being vultures and should leave his family alone. In the end though he chose to put himself in a position where this could happen. |

He owes me nothing and should only be apologizing to his wife and kids. This is a personal matter and should be handled as such. Tiger made money because he is great at golf and they wanted him to endorse their product. It's not like he was the spokesperson for the church... He's only a role model because the idiotic public wanted him to be. Nobody is going to grow up and cheat on their wife then blame it on exposure to Tiger Woods as a child.

the land of the sue! anyways, otherwise I totally agree with you I mean, if he endorses a golf cart, I'd be like "hmmm... Tiger has one" a friend of mine was highly considering one of those virtual golf machines (the 160,000$ ones) and he ended up picking the one that Tiger uses at home. I doubt he went and threw it out because Tiger cheats on his wife. He didn't buy it because Tiger is a stand up guy. He bought it because he figured "hey, good enough for tiger's house, good enough for mine"

You can't sue someone because they cheated on their wife. If my neighbor cheats on his wife then I cheat on mine because he was doing it, I have no case against my neighbor. The only people who could potentially sue him would be those who sponsored him or paid him to endorse their product and they could probably only do so if they had a morality or behavioral clause in the contract.

This is how I feel about the whole Tiger Woods thing: okay he cheated on his wife. Yes I feel bad for HIS family and that maybe they should try and work things out between themselves. (period!!!) I mean it doesn't affect how I see him one bit. I still think he's probably the best damn golfer in the world. It's not like I'm gonna denounce him just because he cheated on his wife (although I hate people who cheat in relationships). |

It was a business decision to come out and "apologize". Your statement would be true if he just plays golf and does not endorse any products. |
