Doubt youll get a response if your putting xennon bulbs in the Mr Kipling Halogen headlights. You'll be blinding a lot of people and its illegal.

Sounds to me like you've installed a HID kit in a halogen reflector. I hope it blows up and you fail your MOT consistently.

(serious had some guy behind me today who had the EXACT same )

bit harsh mate?! Op you will be blinding people though installing these bulbs into relecter type headlights. There are specially designed projecter headlights for xenons. Buy some Phillips extreme bulbs. Lot of guys on here have them and rate highly. There's rakes of threads on this topic so try a search if you still need answers. The problem with the canbus system in the car is it's very sensitive and there are only a few hid kits amongst hundreds that succesfully work no errors.

Harsh? Maybe. True? Definitely.

I cannot stand people who have improperly adjusted lights or bulbs which just have the effect of blinding other road users. It's bloody dangerous.

I had some dipshit following me the otherday with some hi temp (K) bulbs in his motor (can't remember what it was), luckily my RVM auto-dims but my side mirrors don't, his bulbs/headlights rendered my wing mirrors useless, couldn't see anything in them other than the bright white/blue glare of his lights!

Unacceptable. I wish the old bill would crack down on this kind of thing as it makes life for other road users difficult and dangerous. It sounds petty, maybe it is, but I feel very strongly about this kind of thing, along with non-standard font/spacing number plates .

Not enough traffic cops on the road today to be able to Police it. This is why its an MOT fail if the car rocks up with HID's and no chassis fitted self leveling and headlamp wash.

Absolutely not! You'd think the exact same if OP had a pair of HIDs behind you on the motorway or country lane blinding you.

The issue isn't confined to HID kits though surely? There are people who run regular bulbs that are just crazy-bright too right?

This is as big a problem.

Must admit I am not a fan of retro fit HID into standard lamps. Not worth the effort or results

If you read my post sunny you'd have seen I agree with what you said and don't agree with hid in the kiplin tins but your other points about his car goin on fire were harsh. He only asked for help. We all come on here for help. Or in your case promote blacklines

I call bollox...you missed out the black grilles, M3 lip, black rims, tint and the all important black badges.

OP can do what he wants...we're gonna end up losing our eyesight with all these Astra drivers installing their HID kits anyway. Was referring to the canbus blowing up, not the car

lol when I see a motor that's had any of these mods or the collective I'm gonna say it's been 'sunnied'. Could be the start of a cult mate!

That sounds fine but make sure they are levelled correctly and not overly bright.

A lot of the "bad sentiment" (if it can be called that) is based around people whose lights are so bright/off level that it poses a danger to other road users by dazzling them.
