Even if you lived next door, i'd pass on Joliet T&T... Extra hassles, and you would be lucky to get 2 passes in a night. GLD is probably under an hour for you, Byron about 1.5hrs, US41 A bit longer. Id recommend Byron overall. Us41 is probably the most inconsistent with track prep, but if you wanted you could make 30 passes.

ive been to GLD, its only 45 mins north of where youll be. im no expert but the track seemed well prepped. i know they are nhra certified so that made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. it was pretty full for the hour or so i was there but managed to get a couple runs in. that is before a guy on a hayabusa decided to spill and hold the course up for a hour and a half. im not sure how but he fell off his bike at 120 and naturally put his hands down to brace himself. bitch of it was he had gardening gloves on, bye bye skin.
my best run was 12.7 @ 109 ![]() Last edited by CubanJJ09; 02-23-2010 at 09:25 AM.. |

GLD is not bad it depends on what event they have that day, but its pretty nice but there is usually a line and wait. Route66 is horrible from what i heard.

Having run at all of the mentioned tracks, I would recommend GLD. Byron is kind of a hole, US41 is a real hole, and Rt.66 is just good if you like sitting in your car waiting an hour and a half to make a pass. The last 2 times I was at 41, I was driving a 700hp SL and I couldn't make it hook, no matter what I tried. Then I got into the BMW, and couldn't run within .75 seconds of my consistent times at Indianapolis Raceway Park 2 weeks before. Horrible track prep every time I've been there. GLD is pretty well prepped, unless they have the jet cars or the Nitrous Streetcar Brawl, then it's torn up pretty good for a few weeks. Also, avoid the weekend after True Street Drags, since they are hard on the track also.
