Seems to me if it hasn't been in an accident, $25k is a great deal for that car. I've looked at probably every 335i in a 250 mile radius and that price is better than most with that mileage.
I'm going to see this car tomorrow hopefully if everything works out, I'll let you guys know. I still believe, it's only an Ok deal given it's 2007, and I haven't seen the carfax yet. This could be a smoker car too, I'll let you guys know.

Check that, better deal and you can probably negotiate it lower. I just bought a 328xi with 52k miles from them for 18,500

1. Those pics are inventory photos from the manheim auctions. wierd that they wouldn't take the time to take their own photos.
2. It is very risky to buy a 335i that is not CPO'd and near the end of the factory warranty. I personally went through a similar decision and my car is almost at 50k. It's giving me some issues but I think BMW Fairfax caused them.
3. DO NOT go to BMW of Fairfax to get the car checked out/serviced. They have horrible services reviews and their techs/SAs for the most part do not know what they are doing. Sterling is better but not the best. If you can, go to Passport or even Tischer to get the car checked out. I also heard RRT is a good shop for a PPI (pre-purchase inspection)
4. DO NOT go to BMW of Fairfax.

My advice...get the carfax, get BMW to scan the key and show you the service records, get a PPI, and drive the car for an hour or more to really get the feel for it. If anything feels off/wierd...walk away!

PM me if you need any details about why NOT to go to BMW of Fairfax or any other questions.

Good luck!

Hmm interesting you say that about Fairfax. I took my BMW M3 ZCP always to fairfax, was always given sick 335I loaners with barely any miles on them, or X5s etc... I got everything replaced, no problem. I had a great relationship with my SA though. I gave her 5s and she replaced anything I requested. Was amazing, got pads, shocks, rotors, even a steering wheel replaced.

Good thoughts on the test drive though, I'll give this car hell. But I don't know what to look for.

I agree with you about how they take care of you with BMW loaners, no questions asked parts replacements for worn out interior items...etc, and friendly people. But for actual technical problems the technicians are lacking. My car is literally 50 miles to 50k and I had a laundry list of things for FFX to check out, they returned the car with nothing done and stated all was good. I made an appt at Sterling, they checked my car out on the spot and found a bunch of stuff wrong, they even opened a PUMA case for rough idling issue that Fairfax deemed "normal".

Stuff to look for in a 335i...
1. Oil cooler, not a must, but most people prefer one, search the forums and you'll see pics on how to spot the oil cooler
2. Check engine lights or any lights for that matter
3. See when the last time the HPFP was replaced
4. Idling should be at 600 and be constant after warming up, idling should not be rough after warm up
5. listen to the engine/turbos for wastegate rattle
6. check the bme for any messages and oil status
7. learn the idrive menus and play with it, there is a 2007 335 owners manual PDF in the purchasing subforum
8. check exhaust smoke smell/color, a search on e90post will help decipher wierd smells/colors
9. bring a friend that will help scrutinize the car with you
10. check body panels for VIN stickers, that is one of the best ways to determine if any body panels have been repainted/replaced

The car above shows two accidents on report, I would stay AWAY from it.

Garage List
2010 BMW 135i  [10.00]
That car is (nearly) the same as mine. I bought it for the same price with all the same options (minus the interior and exterior colors black/black for me). My car is NOT CPO and it's been fine but thats because the car was my Moms. Also since it is within the family I still get all the original owner deals from BMW as the title is "technically" still under her name. So I'm probably one of a few without a CPO car that has no real issue but IMHO, I would go through that car with a fine toothed comb. You never know what people do to cars when no one is looking, and CL for a 335i seems suspicious to me. He should easily be able to sell it back to BMW for that price, so why he's going the CL route is beyond me.

See above, wrecked car, Do NOT BUY!

I was looking at BMW of Fairfax website and they list this vehicle as a CPO special, it's also a 2007 335I with just a tad over 50K miles at $24,994, I really didn't look at what it's equipt with but it is a CPO and I noticed you're in Northern Virginia...I too bought my car at BMW of Fairfax and they've been pretty top notch for me both when I bought the car and subsequent services I've had...here's the link: http://www.bmwoffairfax.com/used/BMW...086bd70bc6.htm

The vehicle you provided with the link is advertised as a 335i, but the car in the picture is not a 335. FYI

Hey Juan, you're absolutely right, the wheels on the pictured car looked like they were from a 325i or 328i and the exhaust wasn't for a 335i but the associated Carfax shows it as a 335i. Not sure why they're showing a different car in the pictures.

So got word on the car that it has repainted doors. Obviously seller told me nothing major, but it's a pass for me. If it's been repainted, I don't want it. I'm putting the link for you guys, for anyone who is interested. http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/n...610580781.html

Dealers do that, they delete their old one and repost it again so it comes to first page for people to see. New Link.

4. Go through some of the service done on the car, look for anything suspicious. (Too many items replaced, major engine components replaced etc...)
5. Check for any new paint
6. Drive the car thoroughly,
7. Purchase
8. Profit.
Good advice. This is exactly what I did....carfax, bmw na, inspection, test drive, purchase.
