Mr. 5 Intake Take 2!

Got inspired by Craig's intake design so I decided to do my own. Got all the parts at Pep Boys (Spectre Performance) for less than $50. I too never liked the sound of the DCIs. Definitely doesn't sound like a BMW. Anyway here's a pic. Haven't had the chance to drive it much...just around the block. Feels good so far. BTW, I have GIAC stage 1 plus JB+ (Flash version), Code 3 Intercooler and Ultimate Racing exhaust with secondary cat delete.

BMS developed a JB+ that you can stack along with the GIAC, Dinan, or any other flash.. adds an extra 1-2 psi of boost.. flash and JB+ good.. piggy and jb+ is a nono

JB+ (flash version) gives you adjustable up to 2psi. on top of your Stage 1. Needs a BT to dial in properly though. Btw OP very nice job on the intake!

Yep, it's the flash version of the JB+. Dialed in for an extra 1-1.5 psi. It's the aluminum strut bar but I had to grind it down a little since it was making contact with the hood. I painted it after grinding it down. I like the way the intake looks, It doesn't look out of place. It looks OEM.

Thanks! It was tight getting the hose hooked up to the airbox. Wish there was a little more room but it's ok.

Good question. I thought about getting a cap for the inlet that I made for the box but haven't come up with anything yet. The other choice is to get another airbox second hand or from Tischer ($450). Haven't decided yet.

Looks awesome! Is the strut bar only using one bolt?
