CSL trunk question

just wondering who you guys went through to purchase your CSL trunk and how much you payed? i got quoted 2 really different prices. one vendor quoted me $995 unpainted and another vendor quoted me $450 painted. the reason is i rather pay the extra cash for something thats sturdy and fitment is perfect.

Sounds like two different brands. The $995 price sounds like a Vorsteiner bootlid which will offer guaranteed fit, finish and quality. It depends on what is important to you. For me, I am willing to pay extra to ensure the part is produced properly and so I don't have to deal with fitment problems.

You also need to consider what material the bootlid is made of...is this DVWP? Dry Vacuum Form Carbon? Wet Lay Carbon? The Vorsteiner Single Sided and Double Sided pieces will all be produced from dry vacuum form carbon which results in a uniform weave that will not yellow over time. Again, there are a lot of aspects that determine the price of the product...it's not comparing apples to apples.

Are you sure the vorsteiner fits right? To be honest, I haven't seen a single Vorsteiner CSL trunk on ANY E90 that fit right, in terms of the lights being mis-aligned... take a look at the IND car for example...

People have had good luck with carbon fiber Vorsteiner products. The DVWP have had their fitment issues and if I recall correctly, Vorsteiner has stopped making several products in DVWP.

Best looking/fitting csl trunk for the e90. Seen it in person and it looks stunning.

Vorsteiner is the way to go for a csl trunk if you own an e92.

There is a common perception that Vorsteiner offers OEM fit. My first hand experience with multiple e9X equipped cars is that not the case in the trunks. That said, the non-Vorteiner hoods I've seen are

They guarantee OEM fitment. If you have an issue after adjusting it then you can send it back for replacement.

That's what I read anyhow...
