Inbetween Details

I should know this considering I can do a full detail on my car (Wash, Clay, 2 Stage Polish, Seal x2, Wax x2) but I don't...

In between polishes/details - what is the best way to apply sealant/wax to keep up with protection? Wash then Sealant/Wax - or is it not a good idea to rub sealant/wax around when their is contaminents on the paint?

Would seem like a lot of work to have to clay before you apply an additional layer of sealant/wax every month or two.

If you use a few layers of sealant say just after winter (after claying/polishing of course), you should be good with just using some quick detailer on it between details. Also you could use wax if you're going for a different look.

I appreciate your response but Sealant/Wax doesn't last 6-7 months (typically the minimum people wait to perform a full detail again) - so that doesn't exactly answer my question.

if you clay the car completely, you shouldnt have too much trouble 6 months later, or better yet 3-4 months later, so a mild clay and lots of lube followed by another sealant wax layer should work out pretty well. I would pick up sonus green for it is a very mild said to not even remove a wax layer completely. I havent used it, but search for in over on autopia for more in depth info on it!

and you are right, nothing is really going to offer the same protection at the 6 month mark as at the 1 month mark.

My go to regimen:
wash weekly
wax every 3 months (sealant)
polish every 6
and recondition every 12

So when you wax/seal every 3 months - do you reclay the car prior?

Guess I'm not too worried about it... claying only takes 20ish minutes.

I dont, but that is because I only clay when I am polishing as the clay will induce minor scuffing since its abrasive. I would wash with dawn or chemical guys wash and clear prior though
