V4 and warmer weather

It finnaly got into the 50's today and I took the car out for a nice drive. I noticed a couple of things that I thought were odd. First was it wasn't nearly as responsive as it used to be it felt like I was back on V3. I know temperature plays a big roll but I wasn't expecting boost response to go down by so much. Also my oil temps were up around 245 and above. My oil temps in the summer with my jb3 I never got above 240 unless I was beating the heck out of the car. I was just wondering if anyone else was expierencing this. Who knows maybe my turbos are going out.

Boost shouldn't have gone down at all with temps in the 50s. It would need to get a whole lot hotter than that to induce a boost reduction. Could you have possibly done something else to your settings?

As for oil temps, these tunes don't change the way the temp is managed so I can't imagine anything tune-related there either. That said, 245F is perfectly normal for a fully warmed up car.

Boost wasn't reduced it just wasn't as much of an NA motor feel like it was before. It might be my turbos though as they have been making the siren noise now for over a year. That is why I am trying to see if anyone else is feeling this.

Temp changes dramatically here in Santa Barbara, 35F(morning) to 68F(afternoon) difference in a day, haven not excperienced any performance decrease. I haven't touched any settings.

Hit the 50's here.....my oil temp peaked around 240.

I did not notice any performance reduction and my turbos make the same siren noise as my old ones did before they were replaced.

So don't presume it's your turbos unless the sound is in your face loud and your datalogs show reduced boost levels.

Sounds more like timing being pulled more than anything else. That always makes the car feel duller and less responsive.

Yes, I figured the 17 was from early shifting.

Yep.. It's from the ~2psi spike that occurs in the middle of the upshift process as revs are yanked down by the torque converter. Only lasts a couple tenths of a second which is why it goes visually unnoticed.

Maybe my car was just having a bad day. I will probably take it out again tomorrow. By the way can't wait for the auto tune feature.
