Awful Weekend

Hi all
I parked @ Sydney Convention Centre on Saturday night and upon locking the car heard crunch crunch sound from drivers door, doors wouldnt lock after that nor open
only driver door manually would open and wife had to crawl in from the front and baby had to go through the window!
after several google searches i replaced the blown fuse from 15 to 20A rating as thats the recommened fix for these.
this fixed it besides the drivers side still giving issues, which is fine as it must be the actuator thats failed hence the blown fuze....at least i know what it is.
So all done and will contact dealer to see how they can sort this out etc. Then i start the car and ABS warning light comes up and stays up~!!!
not sure if the door has triggered the fault or something else or just bad luck and timing?
really dissappointed its going bad so early in my ownership
what worries me more if fuses blowing can cause so much trouble then imagine something more seruous and how much that would limit me!
any advice would be awesome
thanks
Z

whew, I did have that issue with all doors locked and driver side could only be opened manually. That was fixed during warranty though didn't ask them why it happened, was just glad I got the car working again. I did have a major ABS issue sorted recently, wonder if that had anything to do with that old issue with the doors locked, have the ABS issue on http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=355764

The exact same thing just happened to me. I had the car towed to the dealer because I only had about 23 miles left in the tank, and the dealer was in East LA, 22 miles away. Of course, once I got there a tech showed me how to pop the fuel door from inside the trunk. I told him not to do it with the tow truck driver standing there...

Hopefully this won't happen again, because it SUCKS.

thanks guys for sharing your unfortunate experiences, good news is that i fixed the ABS th ing my self yesterday.
The fuse was simply loose, and probably knocked by me when i changed the central locking one!
Driver's side Actuator needs to be changed still as only that door can be accessed manually.
I was told by Be-ems at hornsby that i need to change both fron actuators, as they come as a matched pair, can someone guide me on this?
cheers

I highly doubt the actuators need to matched. I had this issue with my first E90 while it was under warrenty. The drivers door actuator and fuse were the only items replaced. Speak to a BMW service adviser at your local dealer just to be sure.
