+1 to gator...

Listen all, this will not be too difficult but there is a definite benefit to having a helping hand at your side. You do not need mechanic's skills but an aversion to the underhood environment might be problematic...

If you are unsure when you get your kit, I would definitely be willing to come out and go through it, as I am sure the others of the SoFla group would also.

Trust me, you will not be disappointed...
im just trying to rap my head around why you guys paid HIM to fly there and hourly to install it on your cars to test out

i was under the impression that he was providing custom tuning for each car above the stock maps, if not i see no reason why you guys footed the bill, i meen your basically syaing you paid a couple hundred extra to be guinea pigs?

If I'm not mistaken part of the costs went to renting the dyno too, right guys? So in a sense "seeing is believing" - these guys got to be there and see Shiv dyno there cars and get acceptable / expected gains, so I'd say it wasn't a bad decision on such a new product.

I was being sarcastic, hope you didn't take offense lol I'd be willing to meet up, if I end up getting it (looking at my "budget"), but not everyone lives nearby. I'm in Tampa which is about 1-1.5 hrs from Sarasota/Orlando area people. Further than that and I'd probably just stay put and do it myself.

*edit: wow BlueLion - is the wait seriously that long at your dealer? 4 month wait since your order? I got mine in a month, ordered in Oct., but it was an E90, not an E92 so maybe that's why...

The initial idea behind him coming out for the installation and tune was two-fold: first, so that we could get our cars modded quickly and professionally and at a reasonable price. Our total bill for his flight and hotel came out to less than $150 each, I believe. For that, we all received a mod that was installed by the developer and company owner before it was available to anyone else, regardless of cost. Second, we were anticipating a net power and torque benefit-albeit a small one-from custom tuning by Shiv once he had our cars on the dyno, similar to the small but measurable benefit that a couple of other beta-cars saw prior to his So Fla trip. Alas, these gains were not realized in that, by the time he came to So Fla, the data he had gleaned from the preceeding installations and tunes had provided him with enough to make the changes he needed to get the maximum out of the hardware at the time. So, we all basically received the updated program and saw our maximum gains from this set-up.

Could we have all waited and just forgone the face-to-face with Shiv and saved our buck fifty? Sure. But we all got our cars modded by the man who developed the mod, for Pete's sake. Now, we have been enjoying our cars in their modified state for two months, with further improvements to come in the near future. I like to think that the development and data that partially came from our group has helped make the final Procede product that much better.

BTW, if you want to do a dyno day, a word to the wise: make sure that everyone pays the shop directly so no one has to rely on anyone to pay them back. I fronted the entire amount for the dyno at JapTrix and was stiffed by the member of our group that used the most dyno time-about $220 worth. Respect each other, respect the cars, respect the mod community.

+1. Well said, Doctordel. To teknochild...No disrespect, so please don't take this the wrong way, but I find it difficult to believe that you can't understand why we wouldn't want the actual product developer and owner of the tuning co. to personally install a very technical product (that connects many wires to your car's ECU), troubleshoot it, (possibly "tune"), and dyno your car for a fraction of the cost that his or any other "professional's" labor time would cost? Plus, we got to ask Shiv questions, and then take a ride in our newly Xede-equipped 335i's with Shiv at the wheel -- which believe me...was an experience in itself!!!!

Now, with all that said, again, had I not had the opportunity to be a part of the S. FL Xede install/dyno event 2 months ago, I would be in the same boat as most everybody else here, and would've just been waiting all this time, salivating for the day my Xede arrives. With or without Shiv personally installing this product, it's going to put a much bigger grin on your face.

There's one planned in GA, maybe that's closer to you? Check this thread: 335i Vishnu Tuning dyno day Saturday, March 17 Georgia

Yep! The GA dyno day at Dyno4mance is going to be very fun. We've been going there for the last 4 years for Evo and Suby tuning. Those floridians who are looking to set-up another dyno day should really come there. I don't know when I'll be in Florida again so i wouldn't hold yer breathe!

Ok, well then, I've been enjoying my Xede-equipped 335i for 2 months now...and loving every minute!!! So even if I didn't get an extra 5-10HP/TQ, it was still worth the extra $$, imho. It will be interesting to see how different my car will be with the PROcede installed (hopefully, Shiv will be sending this out to all of us S. FL Xede beta testers by the end of this month).

See Shiv's post above ^^^^ ...he's probably not coming back to FL anytime soon. So, you may have to just order the PROcede and wait in line or drive north to GA; Shiv's quote from his last post...

"The GA dyno day at Dyno4mance is going to be very fun. We've been going there for the last 4 years for Evo and Suby tuning. Those floridians who are looking to set-up another dyno day should really come there. I don't know when I'll be in Florida again so i wouldn't hold yer breathe!"

Im no expert on actual tuning, but this seems like a simple peice of harware to install. I'm pretty good with mods and especially electronics. I am the go-to guy in South Florida along with ///OSS for DDE's and all other forms of mods. I have done most of the work to my E46 M3 by myself. I'm sure this should be a walk in the park.

Why don't we all get in on a group buy for the PROcede and we can all pitch in and rent a dyno for an afternoon? We pop them in durring the morning, and then just rip out numbers all afternoon.

I am assuming once you have the PROcede, you can adjust AFR's for more power...? Should not be difficult.
