common 335 problem on carfax

Hi guys,

Been shopping for a 2007 335I and I've come across a lot that have this on their carfax multiple times..

"Engine/powertrain computer/module checked"
"Transfer module/computer reprogrammed"

Could some explain to me why these items would appear multiple times and what they mean? Is it a sign of a problematic car?

More than likely software updates. There are many many updates on the 07 08 cars.
