so i drop the bumper and then remove the headlight assembly, after that how hard is it to actually open up the headlight itself? it looks like there are screws around the top edge but im sure there is a sealer too. anyone done this?

yea saw that when i was searching DIY.
im trying to get to the adaptive headlight module and possibly the motor that turns the lens. anyone know if you can get to the adaptive headlight module from the rear or if you have to disassemble the light itself and get in it. either way i figure bumper comes off. |

its hard a hell to do this. if you want to do this right, it will take you quite a long time, probably 2-3 hours per headlight. As well you need to be Very careful in doing this, because you run the risk of cracking the housing, and also shattering the angel eyes. Just wondering, but why do you want to open the headlight? |

heres the deal...
had a wreck, dealer replaced headlight but i guess it doesnt come with the module so they reused it, right now i suspect its wired backwards because the light turns opposite of what it is supposed to. somewhere in or on the headlight is the adaptive headlight module. i know the main headlight connector goes one way but wires going to and coming from the adaptive headlight module must be wrong or something. anyone dealt with the adaptive headlight module, can it be wired wrong? easy to access from back panel of headlight or do you have to open her up |

problem fixed itself. i had another issue with an airbag warning light for a failed occupancy sensor. they replaced the sensor and cleared the codes, headlight suddenly started acting right.
