storing car for 1 month

What measures should i take? Should i keep the gas in the tank low? car is MT should i leave it in gear? Parking brake up or down etc?

I can have someone stop by and let it idle for a little while maybe once a week, should I set that up?

I did that that years - I'd go back to to Australia for a month once a year. It's not so hard on the car, and I don't think it suffered much.

I'd suggest 1/4 tank of gas.

When the tank is empty, put some Stabil(fuel stabilizer) and fill the tank. Drive the car for couple miles and park it. You can either disconnect the '-ve' battery terminal or connect a battery tender. I will say, engage the parking brake and if the car is parked on a flat surface, put it in gear, if not leave it in neutral.

Hope this helps,

~Abi.

For a month, I doubt you need to do anything. Depending upon the condition of the battery, you should be okay. But if you want to put it in "storage" do the following:

Full tank of gas with Stabil in the fuel (keeps the fuel fresh and a full tank prevents condensation inside the tank).

Set tire pressures to max.

Put a Battery Tender on the battery to keep it charged.

Just let it sit.

DON'T have someone start it periodically and let it idle. All that will do is discharge the battery, cause condensation in the engine block from not properly warming up, and possibly clog the cats (from overheating because of lack of airflow).

I let my car sit for 5 weeks without any issues. I got back, unlocked the car and pushed the start button, it took maybe an extra second but everything else was perfectly normal.
