How to clean the grill and behind

I hope this question is not answered already. I but didn't find it...

I washed my new baby for the first time yesterday and was asking myself what would be the best tool to clean between the grill fins and how to clean the black beam behind the grill.

What would you recommend?

you can either pop the entire grill out and clean it or you can put on some rubber gloves and use your fingers

I use a paint stick and wrap it in a MF towel for drying the kidney "vanes" after each wash, You can use this same trick for polishing. I can pop the hood on my E46 and get at the plastic piece behind. Can you get to it on the E90/92 by doing the same?

The grille pops off and on easy. Not sure if repeated removal/installing will make final fit loose....

repeated removal/installation of grilles will casue wear on the slats the grilles fit into. They start to get loose and pliable.

The black beam behind doesn't seem directly accessible without removing the grill. Everything seems closed in.

I guess the paint stick will do for standard washes and the removal of the grill once in a while for a clean-up of "The behind".

Thanks guys. Good info.
