Camera Equipment/Editing software for car pictures

Hi, just wondering what is the prefered equipment you'll guys use while taking car pictures. Starting with me, I just use a Nikon S10 point and shoot digital and just ordered a Canon HF S100 that is a HD camcoder plus digital camera in one but still not too high end on the pictures front...
Am sure some of you use some really professional DSLR's and editing software judging by the quality of your car pictures?

DSLR the way to go if you don't mind the investment.

I'm running a Canon 400D (a few years old now) with a few different lenses. I use an EF-S 17-85mm for most stuff and a fixed 50mm (F1.8) for low light shots.

Most editing software will do the job. I use Photoshop CS4 but only because I use the Adobe CS4 suite for work. It's expensive and bunch of the cheaper or free software will do 90% of what you need.

A few pics taken with this kit are available here

Wow, your car pictures are really awesome..am sure a lot of skill goes into photographs of that calibre besides having the right gear, looks like years of experience would go into it even if I had the 400D!!
