Oda, was the S5 color you selected "Lava Grey" (its like a metallic charcoal grey)? I am deciding between the E92 and the new A5 Sportback and was strongly considering the Lava Grey or Phantom Black if I get the A5. At the showroom they told me Lava Grey is an option on Porsches that you have to pay several thousand US$ for.

NQA, S5 looks cool......Nonetheless, I decided to buy the E335 and then, use the $$ difference between the 335 and S5 to mod the car instead! Different choice, different pick but for me, I still thinking I'm making the right choice to go for the 335 i/o S5 as big cylinders Audi will be having problem to hold its resell value....just my 02 cents!!

mine is meteor grey, dont trust the sales! Porsche have to pay for those color just because it isnt on the porsche list! you have to pay around 30k to get metallic black for porsche same as if i want to order lambo orange for r8! its the same! its just the sale's trick to make you get that color! go on some forums to see what color you like in real person, personally i would pick Quartz Grey , saw it a few times and i love it, black certainly looks good but its a PITA to keep clean and the lines of the a5 dont show as much!

That's how these automakers make money. Lull you in with a really nice looking and good performing model, then hit you with expensive options that you often cannot resist having. It is these "options" that gives the luxury brands that fat profit margin. The E90 for example, only comes in black, white and (I think) red or blue as standard. The nice "metallic" colours you see, well you have to pay extra for that. That being said, that alphine white colour does look nice on the E90. In the E36 and E46, the white colour just did'nt suit the car very well, but in the E90, it looks pretty good.

Personally, I can do without the Idrive, lane-keeping assist, xdrive or Active Steering. What matters most is how the car drives.
