Stage 3+ Datalog, Unusual mods
My mods are, DCI, chargepipe w/ Tial bov, Meth (m7) with 80/20 vpm1/water ratio. Stage 3+plus with zero ignition correction. I don't see any knock but I feel that overall timing is down 1-2 degrees and down alot in 4th gear.
The log shows 2-4th ending at around 5600-5700 rpms in 4th gear. My timing near the end of 4th gear is only about 7-8 degrees. In 3rd near the 3-4 shift, Im at about 13-14 degrees which seems fine, however when I see Shiv's datalogs I notice his timing doesn't drop down by gear. So is this just too much for the little mods and zero ignition correction. Will the addition of race gas help keep timing above 10 throughout 4th gear? |

I see the exact same thing when I run at the dragstrip on 93/meth. I have the same mods but with stock DV. Your map is too aggressive for your conditions. I usually run stage 3 so I can get some boost roll off up top to keep timing high. Race gas will definitely keep that timing up. I can run Stage 4 and 4+ (as long as I have good cool down time) when on race gas and will see good timing advance.
On a side note, when I saw the low timing at the strip, it was before I had changed my plugs which had A LOT of erosion. Maybe this attributed to why I wouldn't see good timing and maybe it is the same for your case. I'll try to do some pulls now that I have new plugs and see what kind of timing I have.

Clap135- Yes, you are seeing ignition retard in the high gear. It's just caused by a combination of intake temp and cylinder temp caused by being on sustained boost for nearly 10 seconds. Can you plot Ign Corr (Ignition Correction) as well? I know it's set to 0 but there are some other ignition correction components that aren't scaled down to 0. I just want to see if IAT based ignition correction is also contributing to the ignition advance reduction. It's still there, even when you set ignition correction to 0. Shiv |

The more I look at the timing logs, the more normal they seem. I mean in 3rd gear at 5600rpm I am at 9 degrees and by 6500ish im at 13-14. So in 4th gear at 5600ish im at 7.5 degrees, so that only 1.5 degrees of ignition loss. Im curious to see what would happen if I could wind out 4th, but trying to find room to go to 140 is not easy at 8 oclock on a sunday lol. So you ran stage 4+ at the strip with race gas and ignnition seemed fine?
My plugs have 28k on the, probably 27k is tunned. Shiv whats your take on this log? |

If your plugs have 27k tuned, I would 100% change them. Look at my previous thread of my old spark plugs. Gap was double due to erosion.

Here you go, seems like it's not doing any correction at all.
Outside temps were 64 and pretty humid. My intake temps at the end of 4th gear were 36 degrees which is like mid 90s F, which seems normals. |

Planing on hitting the track next weekend. Stage 4+ and 104 octane with the meth. Hoping for something around 120, don't care about ET. No misfires ever, so I'm not going to bother with the plugs just yet.

What is meth (M7)? I've heard of VP M1, M3, and M5 but not M7.

What are your mods? In your post you say DCI, charge pipe w/BOV, and meth. But in your sig, you show DP and exhaust. I'm confused.

My sig is what was on the car prior to my fp failing. I stocked out to get the work done, and since then only put on the mods that take little to no time to revert back to stock. As for the tunning solutions, I have all three and play with them when new updates come out. For now that happens to be the proceed.
