Helix Chip tuner
Hello room
I just bought a 335i e92 and I cant wait to pick it up. I need some advice. I bought a used Helix performance chip ($250). How good is it? How do I install it? How do I change settings on it. I don't know if I did the right thing by buying it. Thank you every one. I found this at their website Legendary chip tuner GIAC now bring their technology to BMW with flash-to-DME software. Newly Released GIAC Software for BMW 135, 335, and 535 Applications Stage 1 GIAC performance software is now available for BMW 135, 335, 535 applications. For optimum performance the software must be coupled with exhaust. * 55 wheel HP and 55 ft lbs of wheel torque gain over stock (dyno plot link). Gains are estimated at 60 HP and 60 ft lbs of torque at the crank. * OBD2 port flash installation * Enhanced throttle reaction * Smooth power transitions * Removed speed limiter * Higher rev limiter, 7200 RPMs · Switching options may be available in the coming months. Dynamometer test results are included here using a test vehicle courtesy of AE Performance. The graph plots three runs for a 2008 E92 335i 6MT with an AE Performance cat-back exhaust and dual cone intake on 91-octane fuel. The second run is the baseline run with stock DME programming. The first and third runs are performance runs with GIAC Stage 1 programming. Baseline testing for stage 2+ has also begun with the use of a 2008 135i from European Auto Source. Each run was conducted using an EAS dual cone intake, EAS upgraded downpipes and an Evolution Racewerks front mounted intercooler. The first run is our stage 1 baseline and was performed with a GIAC stage 1 flash. The second run was performed with stock DME programming. Dyno tests have shown impressive gains for the added hardware setup with just the stage 1 flash and we look forward to even more. Additional information regarding stage 2/2+ will be released as it becomes available. Helix has their own piggy-back tune called Attache which is still being sold.
But, Helix is also a GIAC distributor. (reflash so no hardware) To OP: Sounds like you are confusing the two... search and you will find info on both. GIAC is more popular and widely accepted currently, though that does not necessarily mean that Attache is not a great product and will work for you, if that is what you purchased. |

We do still sell the Attache, although we have not developed it as far as Shiv and others have developed theirs. We do sell GIAC's direct-flash-to-DME software which is excellent.
