Ok...I realize this is a dumb question, and please don't ask why, but would it be possible to add the 335i's turbos to a 328i? Or better yet, what would be the best way to crank out at least 300 hp & 300lb/ft from a naturally aspirated 328i?

Trade it in and get a 335i.
Easiest, cheapest, and safest way to get the power you want.

Don't take this wrong, but I NEVER understand why people buy the "base" model and then shortly there after want to mod it for more power.
If you even had an INKLING that you'd want more power, pony up the extra couple of grand from the get-go and get the model with the power you want.
Most of the time it'll cost you far more LATER than it would just buying the more powerful model from the get go.
This goes for ALL cars that offer lower power models.

I have to agree with Driver72. Get a 335. There is no way, apart from an engine swap, to put any 335 bits in that car. I personally think we are going to see ALOT less aftermarket FI research in the E9x series, because the ECU is alot harder to tune for FI in the NA cars; and a factory turbo exists, which, if someone wants FI, they can get it from the factory, which will always run better than an aftermarket solution.

Its possible to turbo the 328. Putting the 2 turbos into it? NOPE. Better to get rid of the 328 for the 335. Trust me, its a whole lot easier and less expensive.

Totally different engine, no way to "bolt on" the turbos... you could get a turbo kit, but the price would be more then if you trade in your 328 on a 335

Like others have mentioned, it'd be too costly to simply add turbos to your 328. Just to give u an idea, a member on here has been making Turbo kits for bimmers. His estimated price of a kit for the 330i (e90) is about $10k.

i think you'd get better gains than the 335i but then again when you look at the cost per hp&/or torque you might as well get a 335i and xede it.

I asked this same question before--got basically the same answers--although I was looking for more modest gains, like 20 or so HP. Looks like there is no simple answer, or fix.

Yup. The 335 engine is the N54, the 328 is the N52. Major differences are the N54 has no valvetronic. N52 is magnesium/aluminum alloy while N54 is all aluminum with cast iron liners. The N54 is one cubic inch smaller in displacement than the N52..

If you 328 guys have a manual, I recommend swapping the differential (search on here for more info) they dont call it the "poor man's supercharger" for nothing. I put a 3.63 in my 325i, and it made a big difference in acceleration.

I read about this on some other posts--but you are basically sacrificing top end speed to get these gains, correct? In effect, you are in each gear less amount of time, right?

is it even possible to get decent safe gains via FI out of the n52 because i thought the reason they went to the n54 was because it could handle boost while the n52 wouldnt be able to

kinda off topic but while talking about 328i gains does anyone know about how much hp and tq i would need to get my auto to do 0-60 in under 6s
