Magnetic oil filter any good?

Someone recommended this product as being capable of "filtering" small metallic particles that conventional oil filters cannot filter.

It's called filtermag.

i had a magnetic plug on my G. it wasn't anything special, it was just a tool for me to know if something was going on.

never heard of the magnetic filters though.

Agreed. I doubt it would work on a BMW oil filter/housing anyway.

What percentage of the N54 engine’s components are manufactured from magnetic steel or iron? This product definitely won’t work on aluminum and other non-magnetic alloys.

If there are some magnetic particles in your motor oil that are too small to be caught by the engine oil filter, then the particles are too small to cause engine damage either.

Yes. The N54 has an aluminum block with cast iron cylinder liners.
