Any suggestions on motor oil to suit HK's hot weather?

Try Royal Purple 5W40. It is not popular in HK but has good reputation in oversea motorsport market. 3 members in our forum has try it. You will expect a few degrees C lower than BMW OEM oil on the oil temperature.
