N52 Headers. How Much Should they cost?

Out of curiosity, what do you guys think headers for our cars should cost?

I know Super Sprint makes them for like $2500, and thats absurd.

but no one else does.

I wouldnt mind paying $900-1100 for a set of headers that worked, looked good and sounded nice.

What about you guys?

Dyno Gains are paramount in the assessment of header value. I feel that a solid set of proven SS headers with workin O2 Bungs or suitable O2 simulator (like RR's) are worth $700-1100 (with proven gains)

The Supersprint ones arent worthwhile due to the extreme HPollar ratio

I agree, over 1100 and thats just not worth it. If we could find something 900-1000 id be in.

i know bavx is trying to get some local socal members to test some MXP headers which i think they are charging about $1000 for headers, install, and dynos for before and after, which is pretty good and i would do it if my car wasn't still under warranty and if i had the extra cash...

Like I mentioned in a previous post, there used to be a seller on ebay who sold supersprint exact replicas for e46 for around 300$. Members on the e46 forums seemed to praise them...I don't think a good set of after market headers should run for more than 800$ seeing as the majority of the hp gain is most probably from removal of the cats...

That would be amazing! The only problem is that Riss is apparently closed and we would need 0-2 sensor simulators...

I'm sure it's an easy fix.

I'll look into where we can find 02 sensor simulators, I remember seeing them in japan for the n52.

they can be reverse engineered once there is a market for em. Riss Racing may have been ahead of their time

I'd pay 500-600 bucks for headers, that seems to be what the decent ones for the e46's are going for.

As for cats, I wonder if moving the O2 sensor bung to after the secondary cats would help keep the car from throwing codes.

Im sure Terry @ BMS could fab up some o2 sims for us, they make them for the turbo guys..

so if I could get a connection on headers for us custom made, 800$ + the sims (which i dont think are very expensive)

any one want in?

I have a local speed shop that my buddy owns and he would be willing to do it if we had enough people

I would be in, contingent on dyno gains of course. Would love to see TQ#'s posted with 6spd + BMS ECU + Header + shorter gears
