Amplifier advice! check out my new stealth enclosure!
First of all i want to say that Technic and VP Electricity have done a great job in saving hundreds/thousands of dollars for people here.
I've been lurking for the past 3 days reading up on their posts in various threads and I have nothing but respect for them. I think there's alot of lurkers out there who feel the same. I recently dropped 1000$ on custom enclosure, amp and sub. But I wish I had done some research first because i still use the stock amp to power my speakers and subs under my seats... My new amp only powers my 12'' Type R subs...from the stock amp wires, I split the subwoofers L and R wires so that it would directly feed into my new amp (rockford p600) and then the amp connects to my 1222d type r subs. So i need advice right now, I'm very low on cash ATM, my budget is 300 right now (unless its absolutely necessary to spend more). I'm thinking to just upgrade my stock amp, according to Technics the main bottleneck of sound quality is the stock amp... with 10%THD, etc (BSW website also confirms this). So in short, I want to do a 1. quick easy installation of an amp, just plug out the stock amp wire bundle and then plug into the BWH9003, then connect those wires to the new amp? (i'm a complete newb, my buddy install my current amp for me) http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu..._BWH-9003.aspx can i use the BWH9003 for this? 2. The best and cheapest amp for the money (i realize its all subjective, but just give me your subjective answers, if you'd be so kind, I'd consider them all) 3. *preferred but optional* can fit inside where the old amp used to be... or anywhere behind all the trunk covers... i'm looking at this amp: Powerbass 700.5x http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...SA+700.5X.html or.. *this ones a big one* boss CX 1800 (http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-Boss-Audio-C...item53e09664e5) (btw i just want to reconfirm that I require a 5/6 channel amp to power front rear speakers and the two subs under the seats, correct? I think i've read somewhere where a 4 amp would suffice as well, but i think i may have misunderstood something....) In summary, all I really want is a cheap small amp that can improve my sound quality for the money *hopefully before 200$*, this is a prudent upgrade, correct? Here are pics of my new enclosure, quite proud of it: Last edited by PastorReda; 04-16-2010 at 01:32 AM.. Reason: ADD PICTURES |
