Hate to be biased, but that Hartge Lip looks great! And with that Vorsteiner hood, it's amazing

There are several members who have the aero lip molded onto the OEM bumper for a cleaner look ........... which it most certainly is!

Is it expensive to mold something on?

probably a stupid question, but related to lips and all
whenever u guyz add lips on ur cars, how durable are they? and would u kinda have to manouvre to avoid going full frontal with a speed bump?
but are scratches due to the speed bumps and possibly pot holes very visible?
cuz i always see couple cars, not bmws, with torn up front bumpers at my school
and doens't seem that very many ppl have issues

Essentially, scraping the bottom is dependant upon how low the car sits ...... how careful the driver can be and road conditions you have to deal with. Ofcourse, as a driver you'll want to be as careful as possible with steep inclines, speed bumps and parking stops.

I have scraped twice because of the angle of my driveway. The scrapes are not noticeable. Ofcourse, they are when the car is on a lift!

Most pieces are made from either polyurethane, fiberglass, carbon fiber or ABS plastic. All are very durable but, not damage proof.

You have to be careful with a lowered car and an add on lip when going over driveways or bumps. Scraps to the bottom are largely invisible but you have to watch out for parking blocks as those scratch the front part of the lip. You may want to cover the lip in 3M vinyl to protect it against rock chips.

The durability of the lip really depends on the manufacturer. The best materials to use will be CF (with a clearcoat), ABS plastic and PolyUrethane. Watch out for Fiberglass parts, these are very brittle and crack easily.

If you really want it to look nice get the M-tech front bumper it's a few hundred more than a lip, but it's sure to give your car that aggressive look you're going for.
If you don't like that get a M3 style front bumper with a Hamman Carbon lip!

I'm in the market for a front lip also.

The Hamann is at the top of my list. What's holding me back is knowing I'll trash it -- it would hang a couple of inches below the stock front bumper and the car is already lowered...

aero is the best, hamann is a close second.

vorsteiner lip doesn't look good to me.

ideal front combo would be mtech front w/ vorsteiner splitters

I know the M-tech replaces your entire bumper but just threw it in there. Gave a slight edge to the aero lip since it costs less and easier to install as well.
^This.
