PBX and oil changes

I'm just changing my oil, and I'm remembering that the PBX spikes the RPMs higher at cold start, up to 1,400 rpm, I'm using map 3. [Until the filter is full, air is pumped out of passages, and everything fully lubricated, you want to keep rpms at a minimum.]

So I'm going to turn it off altogether for the first start, map 0. And go back to map 2 or 3 on the second start.

For those of you taking it into a shop, this is even more important, since you don't know how through they are on the filter pre-oil (I use about 1/5 of a qt on mine, until it's dripping into the catch pan - I know, it's OC, but think of the wear as the filter has to fill before the oil gets to the engine.)

Just a thought (first oil change on PBX, and first since switching to Mobil 1 0W40, the old still looked good.)
