Lease Ending on 2007 335i - Decisions - HELP!!

All -

Looking for some advice on my situation. Heres what it is -

My lease is ending on 7/20/10. Its a loaded 2007 335i (everything but active steering and active cruise control). The car now has almost 48k miles - and my contract is for 45k The buyout is $28,800. I absolutely love my car, especially the color combo AW/CR - HOWEVER - even with dedicated snow tires - it didn't treat me well this winter - and i really wish i had xdrive.

I got an offer for a 28,200 buyout NOW (saving me a few months payments and a few hundred bucks on the buyout), and an offer to CPO the car for 1500. In this case, however, I would have to gut the mods just to get it CPOed... and this can get expensive... especially with suspension and SSK.

My only other two choices are to find an 08-10 335 xi/xdrive - or to lease a new 2011. Of course, if money was not an issue I would probably just go buy a new one, but I am trying not to waste money. Only thing that sucks about finding a used one is that I am kinda in love with my color combo, transmission, navigation, etc. - HARD to find! Last but not least - is it just me?? or do you all like the way the pre 2011 looks a bit better? Especially the front bumper. If I do get a 2011 - It will probably be an msport.

Anyways... any opinions? Is it actually cost efficient to keep my car? Taking into account of course that - yea it will be cheaper - but its a first gen turbo bmw with 50 k miles already. I would probably end up having to get it CPOed or extend the warranty, and possibly extend maintenance.

And in closing - whats going on with 2011 lease rates??? The MFs look horrible!

It's BMW's temporary disincentive to lease a 2011 this early, while 2010 inventory remains. Will probably be more reasonable by July, however. So I'd build a 2011 to your spec.

OP - I'm in the same exact position as you, my 335 lease is over in October '10.
The one suggestion is going for a 2010 model when your lease expires and getting a steal on that model.

Q - If you lease another car from them, will they charge you for over-mileage? That could be another thing to consider.

I agree on the 2010. Just so hard to find one with everything you want.

I think they may eat the cost of the miles to keep me as a customer - but im not banking on it (since i would be custom ordering).
