Anyone changed their wiper blade?

Of course this happens on a fri night and I i'm nowhere near the stealership - can I use a blade refill from supercheap/repco/whoever? I've removed the wiper unit but can't get the rubber blade out of the holder

As Scheps have mentioned, you have to replace the whole arm and there was a thread about this. If I remember correctly, it was around 90+ dollars.

Go to one of the bigger auto spares places and they should have a Bosch display, which ought to have a model fitment guide. Pretty sure the E90 is a generic Euro-style "J clip" in which case they should have them in stock. Most Euros (and indeed the VE Commodore) use a "beam blade" which is where the blade is constantly under spring pressure from the curved backing strip. They cost 2-3 times as much and only last 1/2 as long, but are supposedly better at clearing away water on autobahns at high speed.

Had mine changed at about the 90k mark, and it was expensive, but my wipers lasted much longer than on some of my other cars...

Much cheaper here

http://www.wiperblades.co.uk/valeo-v...&Ref=prod-info

If that link doesnt work

www.wiperblades.co.uk

Enter the details of your BMW

Find the Valeo Silencio X Trm VM321 blades. They are 29 pounds

By the time you ship and convert to Aus $, will be $63.

Delivery takes 7 days

I know this because i ordered these blades 3 weeks ago and they work fine. This after finding dealership was $150, and every Supercheap,Repco,Autobarn,Auto everything else didn't have ones that fit.

I had a heap of dramas with my wipers, Shuttering on the way down at all speeds, BMW replaced/ serviced the wipers twice and still didnt do the trick so they had to end up replacing the complete wiper arm. so in case you decide to buy after market spares then wipers require attention through Warranty just make sure there still covered as I imagine the wiper arms wouldnt be cheap!
