Thanks for the review!
A couple of questions: 1. How would you compare the sound quality of the bluetooth connection to that of a regular aux cable? 2. If your car has bluetooth phone capability, does it handle calls as seamlessly as it does without the LiquidAUX in the mix? Also, keep us posted if any software updates improve the dropouts. |

Sound quality is good. Except for dropouts.
I eliminated the dropouts by turning off the car's bluetooth connection. But now, answering the phone depends on the microphone built into the Liquidaux, not very good. Especially when installed in the center console with the lid down! I still hope Iphone 3.1 software will give the ACTIVE bluetooth device, either music or phone, some sort of priority to eliminate dropouts when active. It kills me that the phone is doing nothing except screwing up the music. Until then, I have the car bluetooth off, and when I answer the phone, I lift the center console lid! |

another option
hey guys I use to have one of the above setups, now I have a device called a bar, it is a blue tooth receiver that connects to the aux port of the the car, same way as the above mentioned device, I also have a tiny sony bluetooth transmitter that I connect to the iphone it is about the size of a guitar pick it uses power from the iphone, once these two are connected i can stream music from my iphone to the receiver which plays music on the car speakers. I prefer this over the device mentioned above with the remotefor two reasons, I could never get the remote to work! and also because there are no cables connected to the iphone, which can be a pain. According to the instructions on the receiver it says that it is always in pair mode and that once you pair it with the sony transmitter the phone will not be able to pair with another bluetooth device, which basically means you would loose the ability to pair with the the hands free kit in your car to make calls, however in my car when I am listening to music using this set up and the phone rings, the phone automatically switches to the car kit and turns off the music. So far this device is great although it is not the cheapest solution. You can find both the bar blue tooth receiver and sony transmitter on amazon.com The only down side in my opinion so far is that since the transmitter uses iphone power it does drain your battery faster.

Good that this works well. But for me, I would not want anything sticking out the end of the iphone. I am all the time just dumping this in my pocket and I could see that transmitter breaking right off. PLus right now, with a gummy rubber bootie on the phone, it stands quite nicely in the ashtray and jams up under the temperature knobs. At least until I take a 1 G corner according to Dynobox.
