A combination of controlling the clutch and throttle to try and get the quickest take off (launching) with minimal wheelspin and bogging

So I take it that launching is only done in the 6MT cars and not the 6AT cars?

6ATs have a different launching technique.

You can do what's called a tranny drop, but it's very hard on ur car. I would not recommend doing it tho.

I'm pretty sure that cars with computers don't even allow you to tranny drop any more.

Just like it sounds, put your foot on the brakes add a little throttle bringing up the rpm while not moving and then let off the brakes and mash the pedal through the floor

At what RPM are you guys launching from. Or better yet what is a safe RPM to launch from without dropping you rear end on the ground?

No such thing as safe. I usually go around ~2500. You cant just mash the throttle down with our cars as you'll just spin through first....and second....and half a of third.

marinellie your going to have to find out what is most comfortable for you and also what the conditions are. I've heard of people brake boosting up to 4500 rpm while others only going to 2000 rpms. It also depends on what mods your have on your car. If you are running a lot more power than I would say tone it down unless your have super sticky rubber (but even tires will only go so far). Also if its a hot day out the rubber will get softer quicker and the track will probably be very greasy so you wont be able to get a great launch. Just play around with it a few times to see what works best for you.

BTW, JayKay335i I love your signature.

Thanks for that break down. I am guessing I will be taking it on the easy side first. Going to the test and tune day this Sunday at the track. Hope the weather holds up.

I went last night for the first time with this car. I was pretty proud of the car, it has JB+ at half setting and ran 13.4 at 104.4. This track is considered a slower track here in the midwest so I was pretty happy. I brake boosted to 2k and seemed to be a good spot, 60ft was 1.91.

Good luck to you and have fun!

is brake boosting going to spoil the brakes or tranny or some sorta thing? I heard it might destroy the torque converter or somthing. Im no mechanic tho.
