Noisier after Servicing?
Hi All,
Been lurking on these forums for a while and found some great advice - this is my first post however! I currently drive an E90 LCI 325D, which recently went in for it's first service at a main dealer -Standard Scope Oil Change and Microfilter. I supplied my own oil, which was Castrol Edge Turbo Diesel 0W-30. Not sure if I'm imagining things, but now I swear it's considerably noisier on idle - a real clatter which wasn't there before. Nothing else has changed, eg. driving style, distances, fuel grades etc. I haven't noticed any other differences, like a drop in MPG or power. Anyone else ever noticed this? I've owned a few varied cars in my time, and I think I've got a good ear for these things, but this one seems weird Any advice/thoughts appreciated! Thanks. |

Shouldnt be. Denzils particularly are much quieter after an oil change I find, as it happens, the Miggins Espace D came back from service today and its whispering....

Yes, the engine cover is a good place to look first, plus the undertray too.
In my experience engines are usually quieter after a service.
