Leasing a MY2010 328i. GAP, Down, and Cap Cost questions
I am wondering on a MY2010 lease for a 328i, how much can I expect to negotiate the cap cost BEFORE the spring rebate is applied
Correct me if I am wrong, a noob at leasing. As I understand from the Cap cost you would deduct the spring rebate ($2500) and the Deposit ($3500 as on BMWNA website). So (Cap cost - 2500 - 3500) would be the effective number to be used for calculating how much of the car's value one uses during the lease period. Three Questions: 1) How much can I negotiate and bring the cap cost down? (say for a hypothetical car with a Invoice Price of $40,000, keeping in mind the MY2011 is out already). For a Demo there would be a higher margin I believe. 2) Has anyone leased a vehicle with ZERO down payment? Even though BMWNA says $3500. I do not want my money to be stuck in the car, as they say $0 down on a lease is the best you can do. 3) GAP insurance is something that I am not sure about, how much do you end up paying for that? Or does BMWNA takes cares of that for all leases itself (kind of hard to believe) I greatly appreciate responses. Thanks! |

i believe all leases already include GAP insurance (you should double check that). i just leased a 2010 328i xdrive coupe and put 0 down. you should negotiate the price of the car and then work from there. my MSRP was a bit over 48k but was able to get it down to 44k. my payments are 524/month including tax and 12k miles/ year. i just paid the fees upfront which came out to roughly 1800.
hope i helped |

I leased my 335i with $0.00 cap cost reduction (down payment) so when I picked up my car, I paid like $1,500, which was all the fees, first months payment, etc but no cap cost reduction. If you're credit is good enough, they will let you do it, but they put $3,500 on their website so it looks cheaper and more people can qualify if they get some money upfront.

Fee seems to be around 1900 for me, which may be dependent on state/county. Yes, it was helpful. Thanks Quote:
I believe in that case, $3500 down would help people with moderate to low credit to qualify? And I could still use $0 cap cost reduction if I qualify with a good credit. |
