Acceleration Rattle
When accelerating hard in either D, S or M mode my car makes a metalic rattling sound which is driving me crazy.
Has anyone else experienced this? |

Hi mate and welcome.
Could possibly be the wastegate actuator issue? Have a look on YouTube for that and see if it sounds like your noise. Alternatively, could it be coming from the exhaust? |

wastegate rattle is common on 335i's
usually at low revs and from cold ? There are quite a few threads on here, defo worth a search. Dealers got a set method on dealing with it, think they do an ECU update, then replace actuators. Well they did for me and it seems to have cured it. |

I should be picking mine up in a few hours (fingers crossed) after having stage 2 of the above method completed.

Don't think wastegate rattle would happen on hard acceleration though - it's pretty much only on spool-down. You'd notice it as the engine returns to tickover speed if you blip the throttle when you're stationary in neutral.
