First visit to europe and the 'RING!

Hey guys,
I'm heading to Germany for a conference in June and my wife and I are heading to the Nurburgring area June 24-26th. I was hoping to do a lap or two in our rental, though i'm sure Hertz won't allow it. Is there anyone here on the forums that would be there on a public day that i can bum a lap with?
Any other suggestions for visiting the area would be great!

I'm going there on May 10. I'm renting a car specifically prepped for the track from RSR rentals. It's going to be a one shot deal for me, so I'm taking advantage of it to make sure I get to drive on the green hell! I can't wait!
