Yup, Car and Driver tested a SMG M5 and and did 0-60 in 4.2 and 12.2 @ 118mph with all traction nannies off
The DSC on the new 6MT M5's can not be shut off completely and ran in 4.7 and 13.0 @ 114mph. |

Im with charlie on this one. A xeded 335i is capable of a 12 sec 1/4 mile time. Im not saying this because I own one, but its because its just common logic. Here are my real world track figures to show you guys. Last time I went to fontana it was very shitty. Headwinds were at 50+ mph and it was about +47f. I couldnt hook up for the life of me and ened up burning through first and 2nd. Fontana elevation is about 1400-1600 somthing like that. Someone correct me if im wrong. I dont have a scanner so bear with me here. My times were as followed. r/t : 0.167 60 ft : 2.301 1/8 : 9.314 @ 80.00 mph 1/4 : 14.1 @ 101.44 mph Now a week later I went to qual comm. A 1/8 mile track. temp as @ +52F. still couldnt hook up on 1st well. But thats what I get for trying to drag race with run flats. My times were as followed. r/t : .485 60 ft : 2.201 1/8 : 8.900 @ 81.55 mph My friend when his gto was stock ran at the exact track with similar weather conditions and got. r/t : 0.893 60 ft : 2.0 1/8 8.7 @ 81.66 mph That was with no wheel spin on DR's. If you can see the trap times are almost identical. A 8.9 is roughly running around a 13.5-13.6 1/4 mile. A 8.7 is about a 13.3-13.4. The car stock is capable of running low 13's no doubt about that. Now a 335i with xede in it is very capable of doing 12's np with a 111 mph trap. But youll need to learn how to feather the clutch out so you dont break traction. And Drag racing in run flats is fucking terrible. If anything any other 255 high performance tires would be tons better. Also I do believe charlie " CEA 3 " did a roll out instead of launching the car and got a 13.8 @ 102. So if traction is such a huge deal for some people, dont even launch. I bet you could break low 13's without a launch. ( xede equipped ) Like I said before driving a car is 75% driver and 25% car.

And all the posts you have made so far are about creating less power. Everyone else is trying to convince you that you need to find a way to use the extra power, not abandon it. If you don't want the extra power, or can't find the right way to use it, (especially since you claim to be a well-informed drag racer), then don't get the PROcede. You want to be able to just mash the gas pedal and go and feel like you did well at the track. You need to learn to drive your car first. What about when LSD equipped cars go out and are able to handle this power, or when the XIs are out and about, then what? Are you expecting everyone to get a detune until they can just floor it and get the best time possible. Maybe then we should get seperate maps to detune after taking in account for extra weight for fuel and passengers, maybe we could have em adjust for wind, or get different maps for different tracks. Im not trying to be rude, but youre coming in here, and trying to convince shiv to give everyone less power.... Cliffnotes: I think you just need to learn how to drive. EDIT: Woops didnt realize how old this was. |
