My policy renews in October so I've been wondering how much of an increase I'll be seeing in spite of the fact I have a perfect record. I heard on the news a few weeks ago that the Ontario gov't approved rate increases for the insurance companies and from what I've heard many people having been seeing increases of 10% or more.

I use TD Meloche Monnex. I pay about $2200 a year for 2 drivers on the vehicle.

(That being said, as part of my disclosure... I work for TD! TD Meloche Monnex FTW!)

Everywhere else wants $2500+

That's funny. TD Meloche Monnex is my insurance co, and I don't work for them but get better rates than you do?

1400 for 2 cars, collision deductible 500 on the Bmw and 250 on the civic, 2 mill liability.

TD Meloche Monnex ftw!

Was with RBC for 10+ years, and then got a TD-MM quote at almost $600 a year lower.

Never had a claim in all my time with RBC, so I was pretty much just giving them money each year.

Mentioned this quote to RBC, mentioned that they haven't had a claim from me in all my time with them, and that they were just getting free money from me. Threatened to leave ... their response: "sorry, we're not going to budge our rates".

So the long and short of it - switched over to TD/MM (both home and auto) and couldn't be happier!

theres a difference in car class as well...a 325i is much cheaper to insure than a 335i

age difference will also be a factor as well as driving history

I have 1 bad accident still on my record with the insurance company apparently from 2002. 3-car pile-up. I think that's still somehow affecting my rates.
