I think its already time to butt-lift the rear end. I can't point my finger on it, but something looks very off. The trunk lid area looks too stubby or the inner section of the tail light is too small or its a combination of those two.

That 550 with active suspension, good summer non-rft tires, hot but classy exhaust, etc. is just going to be da bomb. With a manual tranny it's going to be my dream car. I'd like every option except for the auto tranny. I think that would be a car I wouldn't have to mod very much and I could be done with it from the factory except for tires.

That active suspension is amazing on current cars (even makes the titanic 7 corner flat) and is just excellent (at least for a street car - don't know if it's track-compatible).

OK - maybe the only other mod might be a GIAC tune. Can you imagine that TT V8 (with GIAC what, 450rwp 520 lb/ft? ) in such a luxury car with flat cornering, comfortable quiet ride, classy but barking exhaust - with a manual tranny? Pretty much the perfect car in my book. Please let me know what you can do to help me with funding...

i want to like it, but i cant from pics. I gotta see it in person. I sat in a new 5 series GT at BMW Mississauga, the exterior is horrible, but the interior is nice. I have an e60 550 in the family and its been a great car. Lease is up next year, and deciding what we will be purchasing.

Incorrect. Manual transmission is still available on the 2011 550i.
It's worth mentioning that this is the only way you can get a manual transmission with the 4.4L Twin-Turbo V8.

Looks like a larger version morph of a 3 series LCI sedan and a coupe rear end. I like it!

i feel the opposite, i like the rear 3/4 of the new 5. it's the hood that i don't really like. too "swoopy". the front headlights also are a bit to "upright".

The car feels so much more "together" than the last generation.
Feels great on the road. That new N55 engine with the 8 Speed Automatic is a dream drivetrain! Fuel Economy is incredibly good at just 6.6L/100KM on the highway and 10.5L/100KM in the city.

That's the same highway fuel economy as a Nissan Cube/VW Jetta 2.5/Lexus IS250/Chev Cobalt SS etc....

N55 has more turbo spooling sound too =P

That's interesting.
Here in Norway and Germany, and I guess the rest of Europe, you only gets the F10 550i with a 8-speed automatic or 8-speed sport automatic gearbox.

I tried to built a 550i on bmw.ca, but I could only build to old E60 550i, not the new F10 550i.
