189s with Spacers
I posted this in the suspension thread by accident so I'm posting it here now
I tried searching but can't seem to find someone who has run both spacers in the front and rear with their stock 189s I'm thinking 5mm front, 10mm rear. Possible yes? Bad idea? Good Idea? I'm mainly doing this due to clearance issues with my FKs in the front And I noticed the rear would look better with a spacer.. Thanks

Eric@PYSpeed says you can run 12mm in the front and 15mm in the rear for the best flush.
You can run 12mm in the rear if you want to be conservative. I'm also thinking about doing this, I really like the 189's.

How about 10mm in the front and 10mm in the rear?
I only have 5mm, 10mm x2 and a 20mm... I don't have a 12 or a 15mm

I am putting 20mm spacers on the rear Friday. I have an e90 (and its an xi so that gives me a little extra height) so I wont be able to comment on rubbing issues compared to an e92/93 but I'll but I'll post some before and after pics up here to show how aggressive it makes the rear track compared to the front.
I have to say I am little concerned it will be too much myself without putting at least a 5mm up front. We'll see. |

If I put a 10mm in the front
would it be better to put a 12 or a 15mm in the rear?

Here are the pics of my e90 2008 335xi with OEM 189s and 20mm H&R spacers on the rears (no spacers on the front):
I thought they might be a bit too aggressive but it turns out they are perfect. Not only do they look great, driving home through some high speed sweepers, the car "sat" back into the turn a lot earlier and with more stability. Havent really had a chance to hit any tight backroads yet. |
