Retractable cup holder sticks....

The "driver" side retractable cup holder (above the glove box) always sticks when I try to open it. A slight yank will get it to open fully.

Is there a way to lubricate this - so its a one step process instead of two?

You would need to use some kind of grease not oil. Have you tried repositioning it? My dealer installed mine wrong after servicing the car and I had to reposition it to get it pop out automatically.
