Tyre life - Bridgestone RFT's
I'm running the standard 17" M-Tech wheels with Bridgestone RFT tyres.
225/45R17 Front 255/40R17 Rear Who's worn their's out and what mileage did you get? I'm specifically looking at life on a 335i with daily driving, but any other would be interesting to.

A couple of M-Sport 323i's and 320d's that I know went past 50 000km with the original tyres still roadworthy, so you should also look at the 50 000km to 60 000km range for your 335i, give or take, factoring in driving style and weight difference between the 335i and the other E90's. For interest, my original 18 inch Bridgestone tyres lasted an unbelievable 107 000km, but that's an exception as I do mostly highway driving.

Two of my friends have 335i Sedans. One got 25 000km from his back tires while the other 31 000km. Evidently the torque eats the back tires if you like putting your foot down Both had Bridgestone tires.

My first set only lasted about 23000 km on my 323i. It was the very first Bridgestone 225/45/17 batches that were installed. BMW SA replaced the set of tires free of charge. I don’t know if the tire compound was not right for SA conditions but the second set definitely lasted much longer. I got About 37000 km on them. I did not change my driving style though.

I got the 225/50/16 Bridgestone Potenzas and they have lasted me 70 000kms up to now, still looks like there is about 5mm tread left on them, but gonna take them off and replace wheels with 18" Elipsoids. Looking at either the Bridgestone Potenzas again or the Michelin Pilot Sport 225/40/18 front and 255/35/18 rear.

I have just replaced, well 4000km ago, the front wheels. Replacing the rears now at 80 000km, another 4000km to go! I managed to get Continental Sports 225/45/17 RFT @ R1799.00 incl (each)
Pretty good price I think. Supa Quick reckon I will get 45000km, 50000km out of them. I drive on the highway mostly averaging 110km per day in total....sound right to you all? |
